Apple script for Full Res Preview?

    Aloha,

I'm currently working on a project that requires some precise positioning of objects within a picture box (Full Res Preview). In order to do that I have to click on each box individually and then go thru the menu to turn it on for that box...of which there are many.

Is there a way to write an apple script that could be assigned to an "F" key/s that would turn on and then another to turn it off?

I've never written an apple script before and totally in the dark here. An assigned "F" key would be a huge time saver.

Any help wouid be greatly appreciated. I am on Quark 7 for Mac.

    Mahalo,

    Roger

Roger, I don't know about an Applescript, but have you tried assigning a keyboard shortcut?

Here's how to do it if you don't know.

    1. Open System Preferences
    2. Click on Keyboard & Mouse
    3. Click on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab
    4. Click on the Add (+) button
    5. Select QuarkXPress as the app (you might have to browse to it - bottom of the list under Other...)
    6. In the Menu Title box put in Full Resolution
    7. In the keyboard shortcut enter the shortcut you want to use.
    8. Click Add.
    9. Close XPress if it's open
10 Reopen XPress and begin using the new shortcut.

You might want to add a shortcut to go back. Just do all the steps again but enter Low Resolution in the Menu Title box.

I don't think you can use an Fkey since it will probably conflict, but at least it's something.

    Hope that helps.

Or you can use Badia LiveKeys Xtension: it lets you totally customize keyboard shortcuts in Xpress and add new shortcuts to items that don't have one.
    Lite version is FREE!

Anyway, you don't need to turn on full res preview one box by one. You can select all boxes on the spread and turn it on or off all at once.

"Anyway, you don't need to turn on full res preview one box by one. You can select all boxes on the spread and turn it on or off all at once." This will not work with several grouped objects on the spread! I have the same problem. Is there no xtension available? It will not work with AppleScript!
