Hi I have Quark Express Passport 7 for Windows and I can't open a file because I don't have pastboard xt. is there anyway i can get round this.

I have found a site called markzware but this only has kill pastboard xt for versions 6 and below.

Try mailing Markzware - that's what I did ages ago before they released the PasteBoard killer for v7 and they gave me a beta copy of it. That was on the Mac. No idea if such a thing exists on the PC, but if it does they'll help - I found the Markzware folks to be extremely helpful.

Otherwise you need to find someone, say a Mac user, with v7 and the Pasteboard killer so they can open the file and resave it for you.

Pasteboard is a disaster and has been banned at every place I've ever worked!

If you receive a Quark document that tells you it needs Pasteboard to open - and - you do not own Pasteboard, Markzware provides free Pasteboard eliminator software at http://www.markzware.com/freebies/
Sorry, currently there is no Windows version of this software, so you will need to find someone with a Mac to help you out. Actually, they have never had a Windows version of Pasteboard.
