avenue: Error Message when Trying to Create Tagging Rule Set

    Hi all,

I am a newbie attempting to learn how to use Quark's avenue.quark tool to convert version 6 Quark files to xml. I am using a G4 Mac with 768 MB of RAM and a dual 867 MHz processor, on version OS 10.2.8.

I have a problem when I go to "Edit Tagging Rules." When I click on "New Set" to begin creating the tagging rules, it gives me the following error message:

"The number of DTD items exceeds the system's limit." :(

I am forced to use another company's DTD, as the xml is being produced for their use. Their DTD is very long and elaborate, but basically understandable. It has been used before by other companies to create xml files, so I am assuming it must be well-formed and valid.

Does anyone have any clue what may be causing the problem? Has anyone even seen this error before (and in what context)?

Thanks in advance for any replies.
