Eps images coming out as black fill

Have made duotone eps and imported into Quark with same names etc. They are fine in the document, but when I make a pdf, they just come out as black picture boxes. All the tiffs come out fine.
    Heeelp!

    Hi Heather,

how do you create the PDF file? With the integrated "Export Layout as PDF" feature or with help of Acrobat Distiller?
What exact QuarkXPress version is in use?

    Thanks!
Figured it out. Was making a postcript file to be distilled in Acrobat 8. I hadn't cheched that QuarkXPress now has more options under CMYK. Have since changes the setting to As IS, and whew, all separating out nicely.
Thanks anyhow. Nice to know someone is out there!

Hi Heather, what are your exact settings for distiller and colour management, as I'm having exactly the same problem (I use Quark7)

I'm sure I had this problem once before and can't remember what I did. I've changed the colour management settings to As IS, but not making any difference.

    Would appreciate your help,
    Thanks

    Hi,

Add a box to your page that uses the duotone as a background color. Put it behind another box you can set to knock out the box behind. Does this help?
