Convert RGB images to CMYK in Quark

Ok I know it is best to use photoshop to convert images, but I'd still like the option to be able to do this well in Quark.

When I collect for output and click the vista tab to render image changes, the results are awful when converting to CMYK.

I've tried every combination of CMS settings possible and always get an identical image - flat, quite desaturated and lighter than the original. I can accept a slight difference from photoshop conversions but the quark conversion is so far out its laughable. Also the resulting image is an untagged CMYK, surely it should be tagged with the profile I select in CMS

And they claim in one of their pdfs that the only way a printer will know that you have used Quarks automatic conversion is because every image will be correct !!! HAHAHAHA
