True type inconsistency on PPC and Intel Macs

I have a True Type font which I use successfully in QXP 7.3 on my G5 iMac, but, which refuses to display in QXP 7.3 on my Intel MacBook. However, it does display in MS Word and Illustrator on the MacBook... Confused, I am.

Do I need to convert this font for Intel/PPC platforms?

    Any thoughts out there?

Start by deleting your font cache on the macbook.

    Hi Scott,

I cleared the cache, but no joy.
Other apps are fine, it's just QXP that doesn't want to play ball.

    Strange.

Are you using any font management application?

Apart from Font Book, not at the moment. Usually it's suitcase tho'.

Suticase fusion here. Sometimes the only way I can get quark to recognize some fonts is by putting them in the user library.
OTOH, sometimes quark will not recognize a font no matter what I do.

Oh well, thanks for your thoughts. The trouble is I have to use this particular font as it's the clients 'corporate' face.

I'll try loading Suitcase, and apply a large hammer to QXP. It's annoying when Adobe and MS products recognise the font... it does make it harder to champion Quark.

Maybe see if the font is available in type 1, or convert it to type 1 with fontographer.
