    Quark Phone Survey?

I just got a really annoying phone call. Some guy who said he was calling from a company like "Q & A Marketing" or some such claimed to be representing Quark. What set me off was his response after I said "Hello":

GUY: "Uh...Are you the one who does the software?"
ME: "Uh..That would depend on what kind of software. Who is this?"
GUY: "Well, Quark. XPress. Do you use Quark XPress?"
    ME: "Yes."
GUY: "I'm from Q&A Marketing (or whatever it was called) and um, we're trying to get information for Quark."
    ME: "Oh, okay."
GUY: "So are you... would... can you answer some questions?"
ME: "Yeah." (I'm getting exasperated at this mouthbreather by now)
    GUY: (fumbling around) "Uh...hold on."
    (more sounds of fumbling)
    GUY: "Uh, my computer is..."
ME: "Look, call me back when you've got it together. I've got work to do."
GUY: (unintelligible, as I'm moving the receiver back into the phone cradle)

Anyone get any kind of survey call from Quark -- or someone claiming to represent them -- in the past few days? I know I had a CustServRep call a couple of months ago...she talked to my boss, too, and cajoled him to go to the dog 'n' pony show in Colorado a couple of weeks back. But this cheeseball today raised the hackles on my neck.

Oh...and thanks, Quark, for giving me no better place to post this!

He called back! I've got him on the phone right now!

    The company is Q&A Research...

He's asking all sorts of questions about my customer service experience, and what I think...this is GOLD!

Rate your customer service experience, Poor to Excellent...
What can Quark do to improve CS?
What do you think of Quark Tech Support?
What can Quark do to improve XPress?
Which of the following features Quark is considering adding is most important?

I was honest...didn't ream them when they didn't deserve it, but when they did, I gave the guy an unvarnished opinion. Too bad I had to say "poor" so often in the first several questions, but that's life. If they'd been doing this eight years ago, they might not be in this position.

Not really. His name, if I recall correctly, was Roger Ortiz. Something loosely hispanic, not Indian.

Those are the ones you have to watch out for:

    Those Indian Hispanics.

(Don't flame me! My wife is Venezuelan!)
