    Hyperlinks Problem

For demo and analysis of my problem: http://www.eracom.ch/jcsiegrist/didactitiel.swf

My hyperlinks are pointing to the right URL's. But, when clicking the menu Ressources, the Ressources page (it's a shared layout content) appears and it seems that the hyperlinks after the second paragraph (IN)FORMATION are shifted one line lower (example: the hyperlink is defined from the expression "Planète Typographie:" but the hand indicating the hyperlink appears when the cursor is on the second line "connaître la typographie". The problem is without solution when a paragraph has one line only (see the hyperlink "Ezida").
    Strange?
    Thanks for your answer.
    Best regards.

    Hyperlinks Problem

    Hi Matthias,

1 I selected the text to hover, but in a text box in a shared content (second layout) while my QID text box is scrollable.
    2. Under Window menu, I choosed hyperlinks
    3. I entered the name, URL +show name in the hyperlinks palette.
That's all. Is it not correct?
    Thank you in advance. Jean-Claude

    Hyperlinks Problem

    Hi, Jean-Claude,

    you didn't do anything wrong.

Just to find out whether your experience is reproducible it is helpful to know exactly how you achieved something, as many ways lead to Paris... or was it Rome?

Anyhow, I can reproduce your experience here, the hyperlinks in the second paragraph and higher shift by a certain amount. Let's see what QA finds out, whether we can offer you a workaround and if there is a fix.

    Best

    Hyperlinks Problem

    Hi, Jean-Claude,

are you talking about a hyperlink in a web layout or in an SWF?

In a web layout, you can edit the target (same page or new page) when you right click the object. There you have all the options you are looking for.

When we talk about a hyperlink inside SWF then please be aware that the security settings of the Flash plug-in do not allow you to navigate away from a domain (by default). Therefore what most people do is have a web server running on their hosting machine, call a local URL there, which then opens the right page.

So before I can answer you correctly, can you let me briefly know what you are trying to do?

    Thanks

    Hi Matthias,

I uploaded my .SWF file not embedded in a Web layout. So I use, as you said, my hyperlinks inside SWF with the Flash security problem you mentioned.

    Hyperlinks Problem

    Hi, Jean-Claude,

so do I understand you correctly, that is also how you are going to give it to your customers (as a standalone SWF or projector)? And you are asking how to open a browser windows with a HTML page (public URL) from it?

    Thanks

    Hyperlinks Problem

    Hi Matthias,

I uploaded my QID project as pure .swf file that «customers» open in their browser with Flash plug-in.
My problem is that I want that my hyperlinks open their related URL's in a new window (blank) to keep my project in his own window.
    Thanks for your answer.

    Hi, Jean-Claude,
    jcsiegrist:
So, how to call the local URL on the web server to open the right page as a new window (blank page)?

You use the Internet/Open URL action (with open in new page option) to call an HTML website from your own webserver and use a redirect statement in there to direct to the outside URL. Some further reading here:
    http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/reback

If you are asking how to do that with the hyperlinks palette, then it seems thatwe have an oversight on our side, the "open in new window" option is missing. If you do not have too many (non-scrolling) text hyperlinks you could use as a workaround invisibile boxes to recreate the effect.
