    Second tab in document?

Some how I created a second tab within the layout. So there is one tab at the bottom called Layout 1 then a second tab called TopBluein which is the name of a object I had. I can't select that tab and delete it. I deleted the object and the object name in the list but the tab is still there.

What is that Tab? It has a different icon than the first tab. The icon is a page with tick marks on all 4 sides.

    Hi Aspeck,

It is a Layout. You delete the Layout by selecting the Layout menu at the top of the page and clicking delete. This will delete the layout you are currently in though - so be careful!

However, if the Layout is in use elsewhere ie: a button, I don't think you can delete it.

Edit: You have a different layout icon for different formats. A Print layout will have the tick marks, a Globe will depict a Web layout, and a clapper board is a QID layout. Smile

I went to the layout menu at the top and the delete is greyed out. I thought if I changed it to a print project it would allow me to delete it. Still, delete is greyed out.

    Hi, Anita,

    ASpeck:
Jonathan, I sent Matthias the Quark Interactive file.

Jonathan doesn't have access to the file, as Quark never shares customer data to other people/companies unless especially instructed to do so by the owner of the files.

You can see who works for Quark as we all have "(Quark)" in brackets after our name and are also using a signature.

The extra tab you are seeing is a print layout which - as you said - probably was something else and you converted it to print, the little icon with the stylized crop marks is suppose to symbolize this.

Interactive does create new layouts whenever you create an animation (of type Item Sequence, a flip book style animation) or a button. How buttons work please see here:
    http://www.quark.com/service/forums/viewtopic.php?p=77374#77374

And of course you can use composition zones also with Interactive.

Ok, now to your original question: How do I delete such a layout?

First, you need to unshare it. You can do that by right clicking the layout tab, choosing "Advanced properties" and in the dialog deselect the "Share Layout" option, which makes this layout available to other layouts/projects.

Now in theory you should be able to delete it, unfortunately there is a refresh bug with composition zones, you need to save your project, close and reopen it.

    Hope that helps

    Thank you Matthias, that worked.

I will look closer at the names and who is a Quark representative and who isn't.

    Thank you again.
