Hi, all,

does anybody use Image Sequences?

Here is a small SWF that shows how an image sequence can be used to display a circular progress element.

ah, you gave the secret away. ;-)

Yes, Super-Step-and-Repeat is a nice function to create these kind of effects.
I created a line with 100% shade, duplicated it with Super-Step-and-Repeat, having QuarkXPress cirle it automaticlly by 30° and also lower the shade. Then a circle over it (to hide the middle part), and copy and paste in place on all pages. Last step, each page gets turned by -30°. Done.

About this image sequence: Do I use the SWF file to pre-load or the QXP (copied and pasted on the first page)?

Hi Javier,

of course you can use the progress bar Image Sequence on the first page, however that's not what you typically understand under the term of "preloader". A "preloader" is a separate SMALL SWF that you display and that shows how long the main LARGER SWF will take to load.
