Quick Look is the file previewing technology built into Mac OS® X 10.5 (Leopard). It allows you to view files right in the Finder without actually opening them, and it even provides large previews for the neat cover flow feature that the Finder inherited from iTunes in Leopard.

Hi, when I clic on the space bar, the Quicklook Preview of my QXP files (double page) are vertically correct, but cropped horizontally, on the edges left and right it seems that the margins are not correctly managed.
I can send a screen shot to someone.

Its made a real improvement to the Coverflow view that has made our Tiger based users very jealous! well done

I guess, the QuickLook-Filter is a developing in the right direction. In this way Quark shows their flexibility to integrate new techniques of Mac OSX. My opinion is: The QL-Filter for QuarkXPress is nice to have an overview of the file-content but it can't reach the quality of built-in Apple-filters (Pages, PDF, Quicktime). When I change in Fullscreen-Mode the fonts and pictures are unsharp. I miss the ability to scroll through the whole document.

Yeah... the resolution and single spread issues are the biggest limitations of this version of the filter, which extracts the previews already available in QuarkXPress projects. We're investigating new directions for our previewing mechanism that would allow the Quick Look filter to dynamically render each page of a QuarkXPress document at any resolution. This will require significant changes to our file format, but we're committed to making those changes when our schedule permits it.

hi
been waiting for this, but now when i tried to install it it dosn´t work. The file is unzipped and in the right place. But i cant get the previews to work, i hav installed other quicklook plugins with no problems in the past.

i´m running a mac pro with swedish mac os 10.5, quark 7.31

I have tried to download the Quicklook filter but just get download will commence shortly?

I'm afraid that isn't working for me.

I copied the uncompressed QuarkXPress.qlgenerator package to both my personal Library and the system Library rebooting both times but I still just see an icon in Cover Flow.

I thought it might be that the Preview wasn't saved so I opened up a sample file with QuarkXPress 7 (version 7.31) and made sure to save with the Preview tick box checked but still no luck.
Not sure what else I can do.

Software versions are:
- MacBook with MacOSX 10.5.5 Build 9F33.
- QuarkXPress 7 version 7.31

Anything else I can do to work out the problem?
