Image Drag and Drop is a sample XTensions module that started life as a developer API fix for our XTensions developer kit. The developer support team has been working diligently to update the XTensions interface and address outstanding requests from the developer community.

We decided that this module could represent a validation of their efforts — so here it is, doing exactly that. This sample module is also the first one posted with the source code for XTensions developers to download. We look forward to getting feedback about this sample from the diverse members of the Quark eco-system.

Continue on to our Image Drag and Drop Project page on Quark Labs for more information.

I love this extension! I was having quite a bit of trouble doing the normal command+E to import a picture over a network. Quark 7.31 kept locking on me every time I tried to import a picture from the network server. This plug in ended up being the perfect work-around.

    Thanks Quark Labs!

    Hey Tonya,
This is exactly what we love to hear and helping to improve Quark product workflows is the #1 reason why we step up this site.
Thank you for the possitive feedback.

The XCode project does not build from the downloaded files (ZIP).

You do need to have the XDK from Quark.

The XDK is available to authorized XTensions developers. If you are interested in becoming a developer, please send me an email and I can assist you.

We use the JoDrop extension for our drag and drop on a PC XP. Will this new extension work along side JoDrop? Thank you.

Works perfectly for me - any plans to support dropping multiple images at once?

I thought it already did. Grab a heap of images, drop them and there they are - all in a neat stack one above the other!

At least that's what Matthias told me would happen - haven't had time to try it out yet.

ah yes you're right, it just looked like the image was being replaced as each new one appeared.

One thing is can't do as far as I can tell is populate a load of blank image boxes, but maybe I'm asking too much now lol

That strikes me as the sort of feedback Quark want as a suggestion for an improvement. Wouldn't it make this thing perfect though!

Pretty sure the whole drag & drop thing as it stands is something ID doesn't have - nice one.

These 2 XTensions will be performing a similar job. They will be responding to similar events and perform similar actions.

You may encounter unexpected behavior when these 2 XTensions are loaded in the same system. I would recommend to use only one.

    Thanks

Thank you very much for using the XTension.

For what I could infer on your post pdf files are not being imported on Windows XTension. Unfortunately this is a bug in the Windows XTension. I tried one page PDF and multipage pdf import using the XTensions mac version and in both cases imported page 1.

We will fix that up in the next version. We missed that one.

    Regards

As thing (Greg) said, this is the kind of feedback we are looking for.

We will make sure to add it in our future development feature set.

    Thanks

with all the function how we need.
