What does the green block row under the Avatar represent? is this some kind of post count too. If this is the case I see no point in it and Michels suggestion of being able to mark users as helpful or issues solved would prove a much better indicator. (Although IMO think the count holds some weight) Also even though I don't fully understand about the usage of tags I do think this should come from an approved list by moderators and not us users (Im sure that "Leopard" was misspelt yesterday) you could end up with all sorts in that list. Browsing the list is pant's too put some sort of organization/structure into it. All that apart its growing on me…

    One more thing:

If I tick the box Remember me next time I sign in or so I'm not remembered and must retype my name and password.

    And yet one more:

The front page of the forums are not updated instantly, I mean after I posted a message, the former poster of the thread was still appearing (after several seconds and refreshments...)

for the first part, make sure cookies are enabled on your browser.

as for the second part, this sofware does a lot of caching for performance reasons. we are still tweaking settings to find the best balance.

    Thanks!

One of the issues I had last time when they did this. So you guys bought a not free version of forums that you have to tweak cach settings with to make it as fast as the outdated phpBB board that used to be here that was free?

Incidentally Jean-Marie. I never checked "remember my name and password" and guess what. I've remained logged in since the first time. The system has never logged me out. Nice huh?

Yes they are. But I'm on Safari (and I don't really want to get FireFox). Do I have to delete a former cookie?

Jean-Marie. It doesn't work for Safari. Period. They have this issue logged with the company that made these forum boards, but right now it doesn't work.

Re: Forum Migration Status and Issues

I'm on Safari here 3.1.1 and it has worked for me. What version are you on Jean-Marie? I received an automated email from Quark saying that the new Forums were up and running and that I'd need to reset my password. I followed the link they provided and I was able to reset my password and log in successfully.

    Time [O] Progress Report...

Here was my list of "faults" I transmitted to the forum administrator:
    1. I wish for a way to mark very posts in a forum as read.
      • It was there all along (although on a board by board basis) but it was hidden in the "More Options" section.

    2. Would like to see the board take the whole width of my web browser. I paid good money for a wide screen display and hate having all that real-estate go to waste.
      • Still no "liquid" display... No comment made.

    3. The new server speed is not consistent.
      • Still some issues but much more reliable tah it was at the beginning.

    4. Too much "vertical" real-estate is wasted when we browse the content of a forum. Rows are too high.
      • Done!  Looks much nicer.

    5.  Even more "horizontal" is wasted when browsing a forum since the right side is not getting used.`
      • Still the same... No comment made.

    6. Isn't there anything that could be done to re-link all those "board-to-board" redirection. I mean, you took the stuff from 1 database to pour it into another. Those link are specified by using what, post ID? There is got to be a way to relink those. If that was a Filemaker Db I'd be able to do this in an hour.
      • OK, an hour might have been a tad optimistic considering the size of this database, but still, I am sure something could have been done (and maybe still can). No comment made.

    7. Private Message notification. Could we we a popup warning us of these?
      • Haven't receive a private message lately to see if that was dealt with.

    8. Changing the sort order returns a "Page Not Found" error. (Was not able to reproduce this)
      • Fixed.

    9. Threaded view produces "Page Not Found" error.
      • Fixed.

    10. Links to oher website should open in a new tab or a new window.
      • The choice is still left to the poster on this ???

    11. Any reason why polls are no longer accepted/supported?
      • No answer or comments on this Sad

    12. Any way we can get the "Bread Crumbs" further down th page, like just below the "Rating", "Email Subscription", "Change View" button. This would tie in much more with the last version of the forum.
      • No change or comments on this.

    13. "Previous" and "Next" button points to a "Page Not Found" error.
      • Fixed.

    14. Server sends notification of our own posts.
      • No answer or comments on this Sad

    15. Server sends multiple notifications per thread.
      • No answer or comments on this Sad

You're right, Erik! I must wait for a fix. Yet I'm glad they fixed my login issue.
