    I would really like to see Quark providing constant minor updates and bug fixes automatically rather than having to manually check for updates on the Quark website.

    It would be really helpful. 

    PowerMac G5, 2.7DP, 8Gb RAM; OSX 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 (on separate drives). (Also a PowerMac 7300 that's still running Quark 4.1 on OS 8.6 ...)

    I agree, although I am not sure about it being fully automatic.  A simple auto-notification that an update is available if you choose to download and install it would be nice.  And maybe slim the updates down a bit.  Lately the 7.x series of updates seemed to basically be downloading the entire app rather than an updater.

    Hi all,

    that's a feature of QuarkXPress 8.5, released today.

    You can specify yourself whether you want to be automatically notified.
