i have a large document containing taxt and pictures. The text boxes on my 52 pages are linked so that the text flows from page 1 to page 52. now i would like to unchain/unlink the pages but would like my text to sty where it is. If I use the tool for unchaining the text boxes, all the text following the page that i unlink is gone.

May be someone can help.

Hallo - ich würde gerne verkettete Textrahmen entketten - hätte jedoch gerne, dass der Text, der sich auf den Seiten befindet, bleibt wo er ist. Wenn ich das mit dem Entkettungswerkzeug mache, ist der Text der Folgeseiten weg, bzw. befindet sich überfließend im letzten verketteten Textrahmen.

Vielleicht kann mir jemand einen entsprechenden Tipp geben.

which platform, which version?

QuarkXPress comes with a predefined AppleScript that does exactly that (called Stories/Unlink Selected Boxes).
If that's not enough, maybe Gluon's Linkster is an opion.

i think i will have some more questions about reading xpress Mac files on a PC. I just sent my file to the printing service using XPress 6 on a PC. He told me that when opening the file there are some strange things occuring on his monitor. I will have to have a look first and will then come back to this forum with some more specific questions about saving files for a pc. Should I open a new thread, or should I use this one?
