How can I apply the same layer to all pages in a layout?

If you create a new layer, it IS available in all of the pages in a layout.

Can you be more specific?

 I wonder if the OP means the content of the layer - in which case surely using a master page is the answer.

Set up the data you want on a layer on the relevant master page, job done. If you want this data to appear on some pages and not others you'll need to have different masters - one with the data and others without.

Thanks for your reply. I see that 'layer 1' shows on the palette on each page, but you can't see what's on the layer, nor does it print. Maybe there is just something I'm missing on being able to see it, so far I've just copied and pasted the items on the layer 1 for page 1, onto each of the pages in the layout.

Thank you for posting on this, one of the things I do know is that unfortunately you can't use layers on a Master Page. I'm trying to figure out how I can use the same layer, w/same objects on all pages in layout without having to paste on every page.

Layers will exist through out your layout space and although still listed when in the master pages all placed objects will be assigned to default. Thats how I recall it anyhow in V6.52
