Re: Quark Express 8 Mac beach ball and crash on Launch

I had tons of crashing problems on my Mac with Quark 8 on startup.  I finally got them resolved, somehow, and now it's working great.

However, I have two other Macs that need Quark.  I downloaded the 8.12 installer and tried a clean install using that on the other Macs.  They crash on startup.  I've tried to remove color profiles, preferences, etc. etc., blah, blah, blah... everything I can think of.  I am still crashing on startup.

     Can someone help me here???

    Thanks,
    Jon

As above... i have a new iMac, snow leopard and am trying to fire up the demo version of quark 8... it waits for a few seconds and then i get a report. Never had it fire up at all. Must be a proper solution and not having us move and delete colour profiles etc!! I was going to buy it but looks like i may be sticking with Adobe!

Well, first thing is to get the crash report. That has a reasonable chance of pinpointing the problem.

You can grab that either by going via FInder  ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter (on Leopard) or Opening the Console application, selecting show log list in the top left of that window, and travelling the same route.

Send me private email with those logs (don't post them here... to much info for most people's palette).

... just wanted to say thanks for your prompt email response. So far no luck with the suggestions, but at least some things removed from the list of possible problems!
