I'm using the Quark 8 demo while waiting for my boxed version to arrive. It doesn't seem to have any linking capability -- no  tool palette icon for it, and the demo didn't install any XPert tools.

I'm working on a large project and was going to use InDesign, but when I found out 8 would support full drag and drop, I decided to stay with Quark, use the demo and wait for my paid version. But if I can't link, I can't finish the project.

Can anyone help?

Assuming you're looking for the text linking tools, you can find them in the flyout menu of the tool with the T icon. Just click hold the T tool. To add the linking and unlinking tools permanently to your tools palette, press the ctrl+key and select the tool. To remove a flyout tool from the visible tool palette ctrl-click it. It will be moved back to the flyout menu.

You can also simply access flyout tools using keyboard shortcuts. In your case repeatedly press T until the required tool is displayed. In order for this to work correctly no textbox should be selected while you press the T key.
