    XPert Scale and Q8

Could someone please tell me if Xpert Scale is compatible with Quark 8 -- or if this function is now built in to the program? TIA Simon

Only Badia's OpenNow v4 is compatible with QXP 8 so far. Xpert scale is not in the new version but the option to scale and group and scale is there. Waiting on Suitcase Xtension as well... this is going to be a long and tedious process....

The XPress 7 version will not work with XPress 8, we are currently working on updating this for this for a upcoming maintenance release. Thanks

Tim, It has been over a month now. Any idea when Xpert tools and in particular, Xpert Scale, will be available? Jim

Let me add my impatience, too: we're a flexo trade house and have 6 users chompin' at the bit to upgrade to XPress 8. But until the XPert Scale functionality is back for our anamorphic distortions on output we're gonna have to wait... and use InDesign CS3 instead!

Hi Tim, Just checking in about Xpert scale. It's been about three months since this was first posted. Any idea when it will be available? I am not sure Quark understands just how important an actual scale tool is. It is the only thing keeping me at Quark 7. I have bought Quark 8 but they are just sitting there not being used yet. There is an alternative, Resize XT.xnt, but I don't feel I should have to spend another 99 dollars more for each of the copies of Quark I have already bought. That would be another 500 dollars just to re-size things. This is a pretty basic function. Can't Quark just release the extension as a stand alone extension instead of waiting to release it in the next update? Jim

Hi! It's the same for me. I have run the 60 days trial version and also the update to 8.01 and it's a fabolous version. Still, without scaling accurately with percentage I can't use it in my production. I use scaling on everyday basis so I really would appreciate if Quark might hurry up with a standalone extension this time. I have heard from a Quark employer here in Sweden that it might be included in the next grand update by the spring 2009. But why don't you send this tiny little but awfully useful extension much sooner.

I also would love to see Xpert Scale for Q8 as well as Xpert Print - sooner rather than later.

It seems this request is falling on "deaf ears". Too bad.

    Scale tool and Q8

I don't understand Quark, the scale functionality is a problem since QX4. I start using Quark from version 3 and still want to use it. But some simple and efficient functionality has to be build in the aplication. How can you compete with Indesign when this will be an problem every new version. I use the scale tool several times every day. So I thing I have to wait before we upgrade to 8. Shame on Quark!

I think they adapt 8.1 to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and release it in sync.
