Hi Ram, Firstly, in order to stop losing work it may be worth turning on 'auto save' in the preferences file that way you'll have a back up of the last piece you did. It will then give you the option to open that last file you were working on. This is incredibly useful. To find out why it keeps crashing you have to do a process of elimination - check xtensions, fonts and any unusual image enhancements. It sounds like a font problem to me though especially if it's consistent. Hope that helps.

Hi Davewalsh, Thanks for response yes i have activated the option auto save but even it activated it not save the work in real time it will store the for every 5 minutes or something like this. i don't add any other extensions in the xpress the extensions is default of xpress. how i can define that some font is making this problem can you give me some hints that how i check for fonts and the same for image how can i define that particular image or font is creating this problem. thanks Ram

If you use Suitcase to manage your fonts - quit it so QXP doesn't recognise them. Then, open Suitcase and add your fonts one by one. It seems quite fast for the auto save not to kick in so I think it may be this. Same goes for Fontbook although these are kept in the system folder anyway so they'll be open all the time. If it was an xtension - it would've been the last one you added to the xtensions folder.

No problem - hope you solved it. Fonts are a nasty issue especially if you've used them, the client likes them and then they break! You could try and clean the font caches on your mac with Onyx or similar.

Hi Ram, if you forget to turn on Auto save you can look for your unsaved work in QuarkRescueFolder on the desktop it should contain a .e$s file. (I guess this works in v7 only)
It is also possible to reduce the time it takes to auto save from preferences, the minimum it takes is 0.25 mins
It becomes easier to eliminate the crash if are able to recall the actions performed before it crashed.
