I am using Quark 7.02, but the ruled boxes around photos that I have set up in a document will not print, even when the print is set to quality printing. I do dummies of page layouts for book designs and it is essential that box rules print out in my work. The box rules are set using command 'B' and the width is usually either 0.2 or 0.3 black (although 0.5 also refused to appear). They printed fine when done this way in Quark 6, but don't want to show in version 7. This will be a major disaster if I cant activate something as simple as a ruled box around a photograph from showing when I printi out. Sometimes a single side only will print. Photos with clipping paths around them will print a box, but thes objects dont require a ruled box as they generally stand alone on a white background! Is there something I an not doing? or is this a fault of Quark 7. Any Ideas please

7.02 was bad... Update to the latest version available, for instance 7.5.

First, probably good to patch to 7.5. That is the latest version in the 7 series, and fixes a lot of issues with q.

Regarding the printing issue, are you using a postscript compatible printer?

Regarding  the ruled image box, are you importing an image into a picture box, and putting a frame around "that" box? Or are you making a 2nd box for the ruled box? If using a 2nd box, perhaps it is a line-up issue?

If all in one box, create a X1a compatible PDF file from quark (again, works good in 7.5). Look at that on screen, and/or print. If you are not using a postscript printer, the PDF file will print fine.

Could they selected as 'suppress printout' in the Modify box (cmd M)?
