    Layers on Master Pages, Please!

I am designing a calendar for a Catholic monastery, which means there are a LOT of feasts, solemnities, holidays and liturgical "seasons". I like to separate these out by layers. It would be expecially helpful if layers could be created in the master pages.

Anyone else out there finding the same need?Confused

Why cant you just use a selection of master pages with the different settings in place? In that way you can just choose the appropriate master page for each page that needs it.

This has been suggested, in this very forum, when a call was made to see what we wanted to see in Q8. Very few of the suggestions we offered actually made it to v7.5 errr v8...

I think the OP needs to combine the various categories of holiday on one page, but then have the option of 'turning off' some elements. So different master pages would not help here.

I, for one, would love to have this feature.

I do a lot of student workbooks where the same document is used to print the Student and the Teacher's versions. Both versions are essentially the same with the difference in the footer and the fact that the Teacher's version has a 5th color plate for the answer key.

Now If I could put my footers on a different layer than if would just be a matter of activating the proper layer depending on the job I wish to print.

Other situations involve having master elements "floating" above other page element. This cannot be currently done as any Master element is set to be on the background layer. This involve a lot of time wasting "Bring to Front/Send to Back" shuffle.
