7.5 Update stalls endlessly "gathering information"

I am trying to install the 7.5 update on my MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo. I have 7.3.1 on there now, and Leopard 10.5.5.

The update installer hangs endlessly at the "gathering information" stage. I've repaired permissions, redownloaded the update twice, same result.

What's going on and how do I get this update installed?

    Thanks.

Hi Lance You can try to give full permissions to Quark folder.  Also try logging is as root user and then try to update.

If that doesn't work then you can download QuarkXPress 7.5 installer for Mac from the URL: -

The link given above is not valid now. I am not able to find the full installer.

You have to download the 7.31 full installer and then apply the 7.5 update. Quark no longer has the 7.31 full installer on the website. It used to be accessible via Versiontracker, but apparently the link is now being redirected to version 8.x.
