Hi, I've been using quark 7.3 (windows) and in my work he have now version 8.01. We have opened several qxd projects on the new quark version and for some strange reason it appears strange characters on the text. Either a circle in front of a letter or a character on the spacing. It disappears if we delete it and write again the letter or delete the space and put it again. What's happening?

Anyone?

Does these characters print? If not press cmd-i. Could be special characters?

at least they appear on the pdf, eps and so on I'm using ambient Windows and making Ctrl i, all special characters appear (I'm talking about tabs, break of lines and so on) but these remain!

Are you using Type1 fonts, what if you change the font to any TrueType

Yes I'm using both true type and type 1 fonts. The problem is that I don't have ttf versions of those type 1 fonts. Also I cannot check each project, page by page seeking strange characters like those! From what I understood by Thomas Neumaier (Quark) answer on my previous post at: http://forums.quark.com/t/19850.aspx this is something that Quark is aware of! I never had any problems in previous versions of quark only on the new version. This is quite stupid, not been able to open previous versions of the same program because they aren't fully compatible!

Its incredible!! 3 months after and still no fix to solve this!!! I'm returning to Indesign and quarkxpress 7. Nuno
