This note is really for Quark Engineers only as I installed a 60-day version last week and been experiencing horrendus issues with it this morning. I've been working on a simple 8pp two-colour newsletter and having placed standard copy in several places, I firstly made a remote Firewire H/D as backup, then saved and closed down. Upon re-opening a short time later, I thought I was going mad as the article/s I thought I'd placed were no long there. So I checked my preferences and ticked auto-save - but mysterious forces are at work! Additionally, to make matters worse, when I realised they were missing, I notice that text boxes I had relocated had also gone and when I thought that I would open my last back-up copy, that wasn't there either. So I started again, saved - and similarly it happened again. I seem to have wasted several hours this morning placing copy only to find after several saves, gremlins are at work.
So I have temporaily reverted back to 7.31 and all is well again.
I'm using Mac 10.5.5 and have been a Quark user for over 20 years. Frankly I'm baffled. Any thoughts?
