Go to Finder. Go to your Applications folder. Go to the QuarkXPress folder inside your applications folder. Open the QuarkXPress folder that is inside your Applications folder.
Go to the Finder's File Menu and click. Select New Folder. You will see a new folder appear that is highlighted and says untitled folder. Rename that untitled folder to the following name: Preferences. Press the RETURN key.
You now have a folder titled Preferences inside your QuarkXPress application folder inside the Applications folder. Restart QuarkXPress. If this doesn't work then the problem is somwehere else.
