    Leopard 10.5.5 problems----- Reply Requested

Good morning.  I recently have problems with the Test drive for Quark8, so I informed the company I work for it's best to just stick to 7.31 which we already have purchases.

I initially had problems printing, but after installing the CUPS filter, I was able to FINALLY print from 7.31 (which I installed)

As my computer keeps bugging me to update my system, I went to Leopard 10.5.5 and lo and behold I can no longer print.  Same problem as before.

I need a fix for this ASAP.  Please someone help me to get "leopard certified" Quark 7.31 to print from update 10.5.5!!

    Paul

EDIT: I had to reinstall the CUPS filter again after upgrading to Leopard 10.5.5 and now it seems to be working in 10.5.5.   Edited some harshness. I was frustrated!

    Hello -

I was just curious as to why you continue to use 7.31? Is there an advantage?  I went immediately from my install of 7.31 to 7.5 (because it was available).  Am I missing something?

I'm using 7.31 because it works :)  I'm worried about upgrading to 7.5 and having any more printing issues. Maybe when I get ahead and have a few hours to play i'll try it.

did you notice any difference?  what are the advantages to 7.5?

I'm not sure what differences there are.  Like I said, after installing I maybe launched Quark 7.31 3-4 times, kept crashing when selecting multiple objects.  Did the 7.5 upgrade (hoping for a fix), had same issues.  Turned out to be an xtensions issue.  Got it resolved.  Seems okay now though.

7.5 also resolves some long standing font handing issues.....

Why not duplicate the XPress 7.31 folder before upgrading. In case of any problems you can easy return to your older installation and trash the new one.

     Hi Paul,

Please try the following steps to check if it resolves the printing issue:-

    1)     Navigate to File>>Print>>Printer window

    2)      Go to the Tab at the center of the window and choose “Paper Handling”

    3)      Check the “Scale to fit paper size” option.

    4)      Now try printing

     Regards

     Karam
