personally I'd just go ahead and sell it, its not your fault quark have a stupid policy in place!

Wouldn't the buyer have to activate the copy with the company before the program would function?  If you sell something, it should do what it is supposed to do, and if you can't ensure that, you shouldn't sell it.

Fine. Sounds like you're going to have to spin off that moneylosing subsidiary. Refrigerator magnet catalogs for eskimos didn't work out despite your best efforts. Time to move on. Value of the business (concept, clients, contacts, and goodwill) = 1 cent.  Plus (insert negotiated price of QXP here) for the other assets of the company (the QXP license and a box of paper clips).

don't you hate jumping through hoops though?

sure, but just de-activate it on the current computer then let the person activate once sold, it'd just be as if you are installing on a new computer in your company, the information would still be registered to you but thats not the end of the world. Having these over the top restrictions is what drives people to piracy, I think quark should go back to allowing resales, as someone pointed out the person who buys is likely to pay for future upgrades

That's how I bought my first copy of Quark (Quark 3), in 1995. And I bought the upgrades every time they came out, up to Quark 6.5... and it's registered to my name.

I called Quark and they told me how to do, transfered all the data from the buyer's name to my name; if I remember, it was a fairly easy thing to do.

Is this situation may change in the near future?
I planned purchase QXP, but in such a situation will buy the software (which I could sell).

Stupid license, it kills you (no user friendy)

    Sorry for my English :)
