as I created the demo files Drew is using at the end I am sure I can tell you ;-)
It is only boxes (some with transparent blends) and one button. One box is defined as a window object, one as video object.
Window objects are actually easy to understand: All obejcts that are on top of it (stacking order) and on the same layer are contained in the window (and don't display on the page by default). You need to define an event/action to show the window. And you can use pre-defined elements to move and close the window or create them yourself.
In the element from the library Drew drags out the box element you see that looks like the window is actually not the window. The window object is an invisible box (color: none) underneath. Look at this:
