I'm sure this has been handled a thousandfold here, but I couldn't find any threads with this specific problem. I do print ads for a magazine and frequently receive full page ads in PDF format. When I open the PDFs to inspect them beforehand in Acrobat, I can see the bleed, the crop marks and what lies beyond. However, when I import the PDF into a quark page, the bleed and crop marks are gone, making it hard to position the ad on the page for fear of cutting off design elements in the ad due to no apparent bleed. Any helpful answers much appreciated!

 When you are in the File > Import dialog window and select the PDF, then you have some options in the bottom of that window, under PDF Import -- you can select between MediaBox, CropBox, BleedBox, TrimBox. One of those should fit your needs.
