    Color separation preview

     Hi

I'm fairly new to Quark, and i have a file that i'm sending off the printers as a colour separation of Cyan.

Is there any way for me to preview it in Cyan, to  make sure i've not been a wally and got the colours all wrong?

So, you have a full colour document that you are wanting to only see the Cyan separation of, correct?

Well, it won't be in Cyan color, but I have output PDF files as "Separated" artwork before, and it will show you the Cyan Separation in Black...

Look Under <Options> then <Color> when outputting the PDF.

    Good Luck!

    Any ideas?

Hmm, do you only have Quark?  Any other programs you have on hand to work with?  (Photoshop, etc.)

    Re: Color separation preview

A bit late, but... Make a test PDF (in DeviceN colour space as that won't force a conversion) and then open it with Adobe Acrobat and then select Advanced > Separation Preview. A little floating control panel will appear that allows you to switch off/on individual plate layers, including spot colours, (so you can switch off the cyan plate momentarily to check if things are on other plates) and with cyan switched back on you will be able to view the design in the intended colour rather than just a black separation.
