I've been using ShadowCaster for QuarkXPress 7.5. However, when I add a CMYK or RGB photo into ShadowCaster, the preview is always black and white. And when I place the new image, it too is black and white. This happens no matter what color mode I choose in ShadowCaster preferences. So, basically I've been using it for simple drop shadows, but can't use it to burn a shadow onto an image. I am using a Power PC Mac. I know there are some issues with ShadowCaster Multiply on these computers. Also, I wish ShadowCaster could be rewritten for XPress 8.
I recently discovered that when I change the frame for a picture box to 1 point or greater, the preview is correct (CMYK). however, if the frame is less than 1 point, the preview is black and white.
