I have received a few different files from different customers recently, that have been created in Quark 7. When I ask them to back save this to Quark 6 so I can open them in Quark 6.5, the files crash Quark when trying to open. Is there a problem with back saving the files from Quark 7. I can see on the collect report for the latest file to cause this issue, that it has been save in the following versions previously: Project has been saved by the following versions of QuarkXPress: 6.50r0 6.52r0 7.31r0 When re-supplying the file, they only send the quark documnet, and I try to use the objets from the original collect. is this what is causing the problem?

 You are probably encountering an issue that has been fixed in the QuarkXPress 6.52 update. You can download that update here (MacOSX) or here (Windows).

 Update to 6.52 and your problems will be solved.The 6.52 release was intended to fix this crashing issue between v7.x and 6.x.

Some people can have problems, but you can't really say that it doesn't work unless everyone has the problem. Things to try are making sure both programs are updated to the most current version, which I think is 7.5 and 6.52. You should also ask them to use Collect for Output to give you all the images and fonts, and if there is a question of file corruption, they should zip the files before transit.

 Eyoungren is correct, this is a frequent issue with 6.5 and was fixed in the 6.52 update, that you can find in the downloads section of our website.

Nice one guys. Thought it was me going mad! 6.52 has cleared up the issue completely.
