SWF files jump or flash white when loading

The web site below was built with a combination of Quark 8 and Dreamweaver. The SWF file in the center was built with Quark 8 ID.

When the page loads there is a (less than a second) white flash where the entire SWF file is placed.

Also when testing on a slow internet connection, the main rotation image in all the SWF files will first appear several pixels (a hundred or so) too high in the SWF file before it drops into place seconds later.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Woodka,

<Woodka wrote>"When the page loads there is a (less than a second) white flash where the entire SWF file is placed."

Does the SWF file you created in QID has background color white? If so please provide the background color to Interactive layout same as rest of your website.Your image files seems to be of heavy size hence taking time to download.

How are you referring your image files in Interactive Palette for main.SWF?  using Choose menu or using external reference method?

Please try and let us know if it helped.

The background is set to the same color.

The SWF files are relativly small any where from 16kb to  48kb on the main pages with the sliding bar and 468kb to 708kb for the photography galleries.

If there is another way to link to a URL, other than external refernce, please let me know "how" so I can try that method also.  I'm not sure what you mean by the "choose menu"

Please set the cursor used in Swf Presentation to OS. For this Invoke Preferences dialog in XPress and move to Interactive Layout > Presentation > and set all cursors to OS.

I hope for setting the background of the SWF you are not using any box background instead set it from Layout menu> Layout properties> set the background color to same as the website.

Please try this and if this does not help please mail us your QID project at jbhatnagar@quark.com. This will make us help you better.
