 Just wondered if anyone used this setting when making Photoshop TIFF files.

 This is a nice cross-platform way of providing a smaller dpi preview of monster TIFF files, and would save a lot of time and bandwidth if you were browsing lots of TIFF images, especially on a network drive.

 XPress does not currently use it, but Quark are always looking at ways to tweak things. If no-one uses that setting because they fear file bloatification then maybe this is all academic?

 I have used it in the past, but somehow it was unchecked currently. I rechecked it. I have to say thanks for that because right under that option was the option to preserve transparency in TIFs. Checking that gave me transparency WITHOUT my having to designate an alpha channel or clipping path. The TIFF apparently does carry an alpha channel when you check this option, but I didn't have to create one and I got transparency. You just saved me a lot of time and effort. Thanks!
