Quark 7 crashing on new Nehalem Mac Pro

    Quark 7 crashing on new Nehalem Mac Pro

     We have a brand new 'nehalem' Mac Pro running Leopard 10.5.6. We have Quark 7 installed. When we open Quark docs, which are almost all multipage docs, Quark crashes if you try to do anything past the 2nd layout. Quits unexpectedly. We have the latest 7.5 update. Anyone else using the Nehalem Mac Pros?

     No, but there was a poster in here a short time ago who had gone from a G5 to a Mac Pro that was having crash issues. You might try deleting your preferences and then running the QuarkXPress Components.app. You can find that in the For System folder inside the QuarkXPress applications folder. It will reinstall frameworks and system files.

     This is assuming that your copy of XPress was not just freshly installed.

    Although one should never say never, the fact that you are running on Nehalem-EP chips is likely a coincidence.

    What does the Crash log say?

     Quark 7 is a fresh install, but its also a demo version. I don't know if anyone knows this, but the OS for the nehalem is different than others, the kernel version is actually different (9.6.3, so is the build. Is there anyone out there using a nehalem chipset successfully with Q7?

     Sorry, but where would I find the crash log for Q7?
