    hyperlink

I've created a page (Called index.htm) and have put a image button on it. Then I created another page (called rally.html). I want to link the image button to the rally page. First, when I click on the image button, everything in the hyperlink dialog box is not selectable.

I tried to link an png image on the page and it would let me do that but its not giving me my page as an option only the page export 1.

    any clues?

    Hello,

I would need some information on this so that I can help you further

    1. Are you adding the pages in a same layout (Single Layout with two pages)

    2. What version of QuarkXPress are you using?

    Re: hyperlink

I'm using version 7 for Mac. I'm new to QID and also to web design so I'm kinda lost. I created two single projects - each a web page. I tried to add a page to the first one - index - but the 2nd page stayed at 800 wide even though I had the first one at 1028. Then I wasn't sure how to name the second page. So I just made another project and called that a different name but put it into the site folder??

    Re: hyperlink

    Hello,

To get the option for the second page under hyperlink in QuarkXPress, both the pages should be in a single project and to name them follow the steps as below:

Navigate to the windows >> Page Layout

    From the Page layout palette

Click on the name once and then rename it as required.

Or else since you have already uploaded second page to the server try to do the following

You can copy the link of the second page from the web-browser when it is open

And then paste it in the hyperlink box by choosing the Type: " URL"

and the pasting the link in the "URL" space

    I hope this helps!

    Re: hyperlink

Thanks Navpreet, I've renamed the pages and the hyperlink works. I've uploaded the two pages but it doesn't seem to find the page (saying page doesn't exist)

    Re: hyperlink

    Hello,

The process to do this is as follows:

    •  Create a web layout with two pages
    •  Export each page to HTML from File export
    •  Upload both the pages in one folder along with the Images folder that contains all the images used in the project.
    • Thus you would need to upload index.html and rally.html into one folder along with the images folder on the web-server

    I hope this information helps!

if you still face the same issue please PM (Private Message) me your contact details so that I can get back to you and assist you further.

    Thanks

    Re: hyperlink

Thanks Navpreet! I did what you said, I uploaded a folder called images with allthe images in it and a folder called pages with the pages in it - I called this folder pages. But when I went to view it online - the site couldn't be found. I then uploaded the images folder and uploaded the pages directly to the root directory. I was able to view it at the site address then, but it still doesn't link to the page. It links all right but the page goes to a 405?  Any clues??

    Re: hyperlink

I too am stuck on creating page hyperlinks - the option to select any of my pages from 'new hyperlink>page' offers a blank box. Elsewhere in the forum I note that people with similar issues are advised to "upgrade to Q8 for all the new features" - this key feature seems to be omitted in Quark 6.52 to force an upgrade. If I have ten pages in my web-site, why do they not show in the page-list in the Hyperlinks menu? I can't afford to upgrade yet (let's face it page hyperlinks are a much needed requirement), do I really have to spend more money to get this to work)? I hope someone can tell me I'm not doing it correctly and can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

    Re: hyperlink

The second procedure is the correct method to follow.

and the have you tried opening the pages directly rather than going through the hyperlinks?

As once the pages are active the active links has to be used in the hyperlink URL

    I hope this helps!

    Re: hyperlink

I'm sorry Navpreet 'what second procedure'? I have done this by the book - I see a glimmer of hope from your mail but need a bit more information - I pasted the URL of page 2 but didn't make any difference (when previewed 'cannot find' etc etc. . . .(I'm still finding my way around the web side of things). I exported the web project what extra thing am I not doing? At what point should the ten pages appear in the hyperlinks list?

    much appreciated,

    Mike

    Re: hyperlink

Thanks for your previous help! It seems that 6.52 doesn't work properly (for me anyway) - the 'test-drive' download of Q8.02 addressed all issues.

    Time to spend some money I think . . . .
