    Unwanted fills in Picture box

Hi I have a problem with my quark file, actually this is not a big problem, I just want to know if there are another way in removing the unwanted fills in frames. The scenario is, whenever we create PDF and runs a script to make the necessary adjustments (trim size and registration marks), an unwanted color/object were being introduced and we can only check it when we print the document. So, what I did as an initial investigation on where and how this problem occurs is I got back to the Quark file and I found out that the frames (picture box) used has a fill with 0% shading (as far as I can remember, frames in Quark should not be filled because it affects the printer results). So, I removed the fill and tried to do the same process and as expected those unwanted color/objects were gone. Now, my question is, Are there other ways in removing the fills? (Our quark documents are supplied by client and we have no idea on where and how many frames are being filled). We will have a hard time if we remove it one by one. Thank you! NIcee

You could do it with an item style in Quark 8 (not sure if it was available in 7 or earlier). Make a new item style (Edit>Item Styles) that just defines the color, shade, opacity, or what ever is different, select the boxes you want to change and apply the item style (Window>Item Styles).

You can change the behaviour of Tools in the preferences before you start using the application. Open Quark then go to File > preferences > Tools > click on the appropriate tool and modify the fill/actions etc. Same applies to the runround option which is applied to most of the tools (default white fill when applied). Unfortunatley, if the document is already set with fills by the predecessor I don't think it's possible automatically.

Hi! Thank you for the quick response. I'll check on it later and I'll keep you posted. Hopefully it is also available in Quark 7. :)

Hi! Thank you for that. So sad, fills are already set by the predecessor.
