    XpressMath file bloat?

I have upgraded to Qk 7.5 and XPressMath 7.1 (this was included free with QK upgrade). I was previously working in QK 6.52 with XPressMath 6.52. I am finding the size of my files is growing exponentially when I copy an equation created in XPressMath 6.52 and paste into QK 7.5. I have read there is an issue with legacy file bloat in files created pre Qk 7. I addressed that issue by creating a new project and appending the layout. This seemed to fix the problem until I started importing XPressMath equations. My file started getting enormous as soon as I did this. A typical file that was created in QK 6.52 is 16.6 mb. The same file in QK 7.5 is 49.4 mb. The content is identical. And this size is after creating the new project and appending the layout. I can only deduce this is due to the XPressMath equations. Is there by chance a patch for this problem? If not has anybody else experienced this issue and if so is there a solution? Or is there some other issue that could be causing my files to get so large? Thanks

Is it possible that the equation is displayed as a picture, and the bloat is related to that? I only say this because I think I read on the forum that art can bloat QXP 7 files. The equation display is not regular text--it can't be highlighted or edited with the regular content tool. Anyway, just a guess.

No the equations are not displayed as pictures. They are fully editable.

Editable in Quark, the same as regular text? Or editable in the Equation Builder, which is part of an extension? On the machine I work on, I have to edit the equation in the Equation Builder, so I assume the equation that appears on the page is some kind of picture, or rendering, of the equation.

Editable in the equation builder. So I guess technically speaking the equations are some kind of picture. Regardless, my files are growing and still am wondering if there is a solution for this problem.
