Unexpected synchronization of text box in different versions of a file (V7.5)

I've been working in 7.5 for a few days and today I created 4 sequential copies of a file using Save As (in MacOS 10.5) in the standard way. On 'Version 4' I made a simple amendment in one text box, using a Character Style Sheet created for the task - changing the weight of initial caps throughout the text box, and I also colored in a few of these initial caps. I saved this version before closing it. I then went back to 'Version 3' and found that the same text box in Version 3 had adopted all these changes (in the slightly smaller text size which I'd set the text in that version). I don't why it did this and was not looking to achieve this. It seems that there might have been some sort of sychronization - but this is a feature I didn't know about until I read the fairly unilluminating 'Help Topics'. Is this a bug or something I may have inadvertently set up by activating a command without realizing it? Can anybody shed some light on this, please? G

I posted this a few minutes ago - it may be that I'm working late! It is possible that I set up the text box in the Version 3 with the style modifications, so please ignore this posting for now. Apologies to Forum members, as this could be 'operator error'. G
