QE 8.x crashing on launch (Mac) 10.5.7

    QE 8.x crashing on launch (Mac) 10.5.7

    Quark 8 has been crashing on startup. I get the bouncing icon in the dock, then the opening Marquis, then the QuarkRescueFolder appears on the desktop. Then it crashes, and I get a crash report screen on the desktop. I've run Disk Warrior & Tech Tool Pro to no avail. Quark 6.x & 7.x run fine. Any ideas? Tx.
    If it is not worth doing well, it is not worth doing at all.

    Are you using a Mac or PC? What version of Mac OSX If so and what model?

    Try cleaning out the OS font caches. Onyx or Font Finagler or LFEX all do a good job.

    Try creating a folder called Preferences within the quark Application folder, if you've already got one here then empty it and try again.

    ... there was the puzzle of why the sun came out during the day, instead of at night when the light would come in useful.
