    Word 2007 (doc.x) import into Quark Problem

    Our office recently upgraded to Word 2007.  With this change, word files are automatically being named as .docx files rather than the previous .doc files.  The .docx files appear to be an unsupported file type for importation into Quark X-Press Version 8.  Is there a patch to download which would allow this extension to be easily imported into Quark X-Press 8?  Any advice or assistance on remedying this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Emid,

     While saving the file do a save as from Word 2007 and it will allow you to select .doc format (Word97-2004 Document)

    This will allow you to import the Word file into QuarkXPress 8

    By default Word2007 files will only be saved as .docx.

    Thank you for your response.  I tried that approach, and it works well.  However, we are wondering if there is some kind of modification to be made or download for Quark that will allow .docx files to be supported file types.  Does such a thing exist?

     If it does, it would be a third party XTension and would not be made by Quark Inc. QuarkXPress does not support DOCX import.
