    The web & Quark

    Hey all -

I took a spin through these forums and didn't see anything general on using Quark & the web, so I thought i'd see if you experts can help me out (I did see reference to a knowledge base but I didn't seem to browse past it).

Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of Quark, having just heard of it within the last few days.

I am looking to build a website for a client who currently uses Quark to print. Essentially he wants to take his existing brick & morter business & bring it to the web, so clients of his can work with layout and design changes in real-time online.

I know Quark has some HTML publishing tools & such, but what I don't know is how to integrate it within a .NET page. Essentially allow somebody to create the page online, given existing templates, and submit it to my client for printing.

Would this be Quark Xpress Server?

Are there resources you can direct me to that allow me to do this?

    Cheers!

    Scott

Hi Scott, Yes – QuarkXPress Server is definitely the right tool for this. QuarkXPress Server offers an easy to use SOAP API which can be called from .Net websites, and allows you to read and modify QuarkXPress layouts stored on the server, create new layouts from templates, change text in layouts and render them to QuarkXPress, PDF, PostScript, JPEG and Flash. There’s documentation on this API at http://support.quark.com/documentation/Server”. Hope this information proves helpful. Further, we’ve got people who would be able to help you more with this, and we would be happy to put you in touch. If so desired, please drop an email at enterprisesupport@quark.com, and we can get one of our QuarkXPress Server experts to help you.

    Regards,

    Karam
