    Spellcheck Problems - QuarkXPress 8

I did try contacting technical support with this but nobody has got back to me as yet (over 2 weeks). Hopefully someone here can help. We're having a number of issues with the Spellcheck in Quark which are very worrying. 1. It doesn't always pick-up spelling mistakes the first time you run the spellcheck, we've found that you sometimes have to run it twice. This was only noticed because a spelling error was picked up at proofing stage. 2. Spellcheck picks up EVERY instance of a 'suspect' word but doesn't give the option to 'skip all' for the document. This is very annoying as there are often document specific acronyms/abbreviations which repeat throughout. It is not feasible to set up an auxiliary dictionary for every document. 3. This is just annoying really but... when you run the spellcheck it no longer tells you how many 'suspect' words there are. We can't put every 'odd' word from our corporate environment in to the auxiliary dictionary as some are too close to actual spelling mistakes so this was always a useful check. Any way to get it back? Overall this makes it very difficult to trust the spellcheck in quark which is a real problem. Any ideas? (apart from switching to indesign/using an extension) Thanks!

    Hi,

Can you please confirm the exact version of QuarkXPress 8 and also the OS?

Also if you can PM your contact details, we will try to get this thing resolved.
