moneyslinger. It's my unprofessional advice to suggest taking a good look at your harddrive. To me it sounds like something else deeper in the system is going on here. I may be wrong (probably am) but I'd run Disk Utility from your boot disk and Verify your disk. If that fails, repair it. You might also try repairing permissions. If you find that Disk Utility is not sufficient it may be time for something stronger, like Disk Warrior.
I'm saying this because in general I've never heard of a bad interaction between APE, Unsanity haxies and QuarkXPress. It may be that your drive is starting to go and this may be the first sign. I may be completely wrong, but checking the disk with DU won't hurt it.
