Hi
Matthias,
thanks for you response.
I try to explain
problems that causes single-line composer.
Quark̕s single-line
composer is very well optimized for setting justified texts in English. But when
you set a justified text (book, thesis etc.) in narrow columns (e. g. books in
formats like 13 × 20 cm
or ISO B6 which are commonly used in my country) in Eastern European languages Quark
produces poor hyphenation and justification. It takes very long time to eliminate
manually all holes, rivers etc. I thing that an engine that counts more than
one line at the time produces better composition, so it produces better
typography.
For me
Quark is mainly typesetting program. I appreciate all new functions which were
added in Quark 7 and 8. But I still miss a possibility to set a text using multi-line
composer.
P. S. Many designers
(in Eastern Europe) switched to InDesign mainly
for this reason but I do not want I like Quark.
Thanks
Marek
