This is an interesting problem and Im sure theres a simple solution, but I cant seem to find the 'magic button' anywhere. When I try to export a layout as a pdf (Quark XPress 6.5) whatever I enter into the 'Save As' field appears in 'Pages' box aswell. ie. If I enter "v_pg13.pdf" in Save As then "v_pg13.pdf" appears in Pages and vice versa. This is really just more of an inconvenience than anything. The temporary solution has been saving the files and renaming them after the fact, which is an annoying extra step when you're putting out three weekly newspapers. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

 Are you meaning that when you name the PDF (when exporting) that you get both the project AND layout name?

If so, go to preferences, PDF>Default Name and change it to what you want to show (it's a popup menu).

If this is not what you meant then I'm not to clear on what you are meaning. Sorry, just me.

Hi,

There are two steps that you can try in order to get it working.

1. Update the application to 6.52

2. While selecting the fields use the tab key to highlight the "Save As" field as well the "Pages"  field rather then selecting the fields through mouse.

No its setup as 'Layout' but the 'Save As' and 'Pages' fields mirror one another. Basically whatever I enter in one appears in the other. Thanx for taking the time to post though, appreciate it.

Navpreet, I tried the trick of using tab instead of the mouse BUT that causes a new problem lol. Whatever page number I enter it doubles the digits. So, page 1 becomes page 11 and so on. But it did fix the issue of the mirroring text fields (until I hit the delete key to remove the extra digit :/ Can I update to 6.52 free anywhere? Thanx for your post aswell.

 Guess we're all meeting these things at different times. I've just discovered this happening also. Did you ever manage to resolve it?

Its a niggle but its a bit irritating when you are trying to get things done in a hurry.
