What you are referring to is a library. Import all the symbols in to an XPress document. Create a new library. Add each symbol (one at a time) in to the new library. Double-click on each item in the library and give it a name. Close the library to make sure it's all saved and then you can reopen it at any time to pull your items out of the library. You don't need to do anything with the document you imported the symbols in to as you now have them in the library.
