Snow leopard OS 10.6 Certified date?

After reading the post here about SL, concerned that it might not work with QXP8.1. Have any test been completed todate? Surely Quark has a gold(?) version that they have tested? receiving SL friday and would like to install, guess I will try on laptop first. Any estimate when Quark will ok SL for QXP8.1?

I too receive my copy on Friday and am quietly confident that QXP will work without any hassles on the new OS. I don't think Quark would've released 8.1 without the intensive testing like Adobe have... or would they?! Install and see I guess!!! InDesign will work anyway.

Taken from the Press Release of Quark 8.1- "Quark continues to lead the way by supporting the latest operating systems and QuarkXPress 8.1 is no exception, as it is both Mac® OS X Snow Leopard and Windows® 7 ready. In addition, we continue to provide support for Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS X Leopard, Windows XP, and Windows Vista"

Re: Snow leopard OS 10.6 Certified date?

I have just installed Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz with 4GB ram, and 8.1 has crashed several times on start up.  It may not be a Quark problem but I have logged it with Quark at the moment.   I did try reinstalling Quark but to no avail.   It might be worth delaying an install of Snow Leopard until such times as we know what the solution may be.

Apart from a few fonts not showing issues, Snow Leopard works fine here - running QXP 8.1 on Mac OSX 10.6, 2.16ghz iMac 24" RAM maxed out

Well... I'd say then... testing was not really on a professional basis. Sorry to say so, but if you would have opened a complex QXP 8 document, you would have seen the shifting right away. For any advertizing and graphic company, an issue like this is a killer! Any solution in sight??

InDesign. I migrated just before Snow Leopard but when I discovered the amount of font shifting and other minor faults I switched completely with the aid of Markzware Q2ID. On reflect and looking at the forums now, I am sorry to not use Quark anymore but I am glad I switched especially as I am so busy.

Re: Snow leopard OS 10.6 Certified date?

We were forced to restore our systems back to 10.5.8 becuase Quark was so jacked up.  No mention of the fonts shifting issue under "known issues".  Hey Quark what did you test this on, a blank document?

As a side note, no other applications had any issues what so ever running under 10.6.
