    Quark 8.1 PDF missing images

I've been creating PDF files with Quark 7 for a long time, in Quark placing native photoshop files (with transparent backgrounds), on one standard ad that we do, placing in Quark 7 (3) photos atop each other using PS psd files and the transparent background. When exporting to PDF in Quark 7 everything works fine. I just tried the same file using Quark 8.1 and the top (2) photos disappear completely from the new PDF. What's going on? And I sure don't want to go back to the old days and flatten my photoshop images before placing in Quark.

Are these cmyk or spot channel psd's? What effective res ppi are they?

Did the same file in ID3 and perfect PDF ... now I have a week to decide to figure out the solution to the Q8 PDF transparency problem, or just fold tent and upgrade to ID 4 and go with the flow. Hey, I started Quark with version 1 ...

What if you place these psds fresh in a quark8 document, it might be an issue with opening a legacy quark file? Also check that the OPI Xtension is disabled in quark8.
